Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ContractKit, a document generation service operated by Keylight Digital LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By using ContractKit or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms.
1. What You Are Buying
When you purchase a contract through ContractKit, you receive a single, customized document generated from your inputs based on our template. Your purchase includes:
- One generated document in plain-text format, available for download and printing
- The ability to copy, print, and use the document for your own freelance engagements
Your purchase does not include legal review, legal advice, attorney representation, or ongoing access to a document library. ContractKit is a document template tool, not a law firm.
2. Not Legal Advice
ContractKit provides document templates for informational purposes only. Nothing generated by or communicated through ContractKit constitutes legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is created by your use of this service or your purchase of a document.
We strongly recommend having any contract reviewed by a licensed attorney before signing, particularly for high-value engagements or when operating in a regulated industry. The suitability of any contract template for your specific situation depends on facts we cannot evaluate.
3. No Warranty on Fitness for Purpose
Documents generated by ContractKit are provided "as is." We make no representations or warranties, express or implied, that any generated document is legally enforceable, appropriate for your jurisdiction, suitable for your specific engagement, or free of errors. Laws vary by state and jurisdiction. Template language may not reflect recent legal developments. Use your judgment and consult an attorney for material engagements.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Keylight Digital LLC's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of ContractKit — including claims related to a generated document — is limited to the amount you paid for the document giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost revenue, or losses arising from disputes between you and your clients over the interpretation or enforceability of a generated document.
5. Refund Policy
Because ContractKit delivers a digital document immediately upon payment, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds once a document has been generated and delivered.
If you experienced a technical error that prevented delivery of your document (e.g., payment was charged but the contract page did not load), contact us at support@keylightdigital.dev and we will make it right.
6. Acceptable Use
You may use documents generated by ContractKit for your own freelance engagements. You may not:
- Resell, sublicense, or distribute ContractKit-generated documents as your own templates or products
- Use ContractKit to generate documents for third parties as part of a competing legal document service
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract ContractKit's template content
- Use ContractKit in any way that violates applicable law
7. Intellectual Property
The template structure, language, and formatting underlying ContractKit documents are owned by Keylight Digital LLC. The specific document generated from your inputs — with your names, project details, and chosen terms — is yours to use for your own engagements.
8. Privacy
Your use of ContractKit is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of ContractKit after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. Changes do not apply retroactively to purchases made before the change date.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.
